 Yes, I found it was, um, "interesting" to get this to work. (especially as
the split-prism stops being as useful past about f5 or so). What I wound up
doing in my experiments was setting it to f1.8, moving until things were in
focus, then holding my breath, closing the aperture down and taking the
photo while trying to move as little as possible. Using a tripod would have
made this whole thing a lot easier. (though I guess this is exactly when I'd
want a focusing rail)

 I'll see how well I managed this when I see the prints..
