$100 sounds a pretty good price. The difference between the two models (49mm
52b) and (55mm 52bb) is age and cosmetics (to match the then current lens line);
both take the 18F extention tube or 01F 2X SP converter. the 52B was made from
1979-1988, and the 52BB from 1988-1996. In 1996 the 52BB was replaced by the 72B
90/2.8.

All this talk of the Tamron macro 90mm 2.5 has me thinking that at less
than $100 I should think of buying the one my local store has. It seems
to be in close to perfect condition. The question I have is - I guess
that there are two versions of this lens, the 49mm and 55mm ones. The one
here is a 49mm version. If I'm right do they both use the same extension
tube for 1:1? If not how do you tell the difference between the tubes.
