Olaf,

I don't see a problem with diaphragm as used to refer to a camera's aperture
mechanism, but would further agree with Parzival that "iris" would be most
accurate. From this American's viewpoint, diaphragm is most commonly thought
of as the "muscular division between the thoracic and abdominal cavities in
mammals" most times, followed by a component of some types of pumps and on
down through shades of other meanings with "contraceptive device" being
quite low on the list.

RSI is in common use here. "Musculoskeletal Disorder," conjures reference to
disease, rather than injury, to me.

Hi guys,

The case is that Erwin enocuntered some funny meanings of the word
"diaphragm". Much rather than its main meaning being indicated as a camera's
diaphragm (i.e. aperture), most dictionaries primarily mentioned the meaning
to be a contraceptive device.

Then, on a slightly related note there is another of these thingies we were
wondering a bit about, this time it deals with the usage of the term
"Repetitive Strain Injury" (RSI) vs. "Musculoskeletal Disorder".

Thanks in advance!
Olafo
