pj, Sounds like a great opportunity! Now as far as the kit goes. While
the others' recommendations are excellent I don't think that the full
impact of the 40lb limit has been realized. Of course considering their
"affliction" it doesn't surprise me that they would have you go naked
with a toothbrush and take that 2nd body :>) So what's the main priorty?
Film. Take plenty. Then take a basic kit. My basic kit for years was an
OM1, 135/3.5, 28/3.5 plus maybe a 2x and a couple of diopter filters for
use with the 135. But that's what I had. Now that I'm "afflicted" myself
I'd probably toss that extra pair of pants and shoes and go with OM1 (or
4T) 21/3.5, 35-70/3.5-4.5, 300/4.5 (or 75-150), 2X-A, 14mm tube (maybe
more).
