[OM] 135mm: the forgotten focal length?

My first tele, all those years ago, was a 135 for my Miranda Sensorex. What
a heavy beast that was! The shutter was on the front, so you squeezed the
body to release (not fire!) the shutter.

Anyway, for my favorite situation, in front of the stage at a rock concert,
the Zuiko 100mm f/2.8 is very sharp, even wide open compared to the
(retired) Tamron 85 -210 zoom. But the 100mm is a little short. The 135mm
f/3.5 is super-affordable and, again, sharper than the Tamron zoom was.
It's my current favorite. I plan to switch between the 135 and the Zuiko
28/f2. I love to compose tightly with the 28, putting a guitar neck in an
upper corner. The so-called wide angle distortion conveys motion and
tension to me.

I too find the latest 800 Fuji film to be amazingly free of grain.

I can't wait for my next big shows!

>>>>>>Just got the latest issue of Photo Techniques. Has an article about
the
"forgotten 135mm" long lens. A general article, not brand specific, but
very applicable to the OM system.
