Jim, This sounds like a good combination. How does it actually work out
in the field? Do you hand-hold it? What kind of working distances does
it give? Sounds like it's smaller in diameter than the 90 and when you
consider the "absolute weight" (which takes into account the $$$) then
this combo comes out "lighter"

This is really a specialized macro lens optimized for 1:1. Hand
holding is probably not a good idea if you are using it for what it
is designed for.
