Except for the part about the Plexiglas (don't we have some diverging
opinions about this!), What Joel Said!
his plan for attaching the print to the backing, and adding the matte is
precisely the process used by museums and the like for valuable photos and
prints. also the part about cutting mattes. This can take a little practice.

For Parcival, what you are using is Lexan. Lucite is Dupont's trade name for
a plastic material that can be cast, and is used in those large clear
trophies and such. It also can be made in shapes that pipe light. Lexan is
also a trade name, a product developed by GE, if my memory serves. Its
first use was in the helmets used by astronauts in space walks, including on
the moon. Although it is tough, it can be scratched. It is used in bullet
proof window applications, very thick. Re: its use for picture framing, What
I Said.

I reluctantly respond to our problem child situation: I remember a local
ophthalmologist, that did a lot of cataract and laser surgeries. Although a
skilled surgeon, he was a total p***k, offending both patients and referring
physicians alike. As there were other skilled surgeons with more pleasant
personalities, he got fewer referrals. He was, in effect, being ignored by
his intended audience. Finally, he sold his practice, and took very early
retirement. Good riddance, good idea, good result.
