The 18/3.5 is rectilinear while the 16mm is not. That is, the 16 will give the
typical fisheye curvature while the 18 preserves straight lines. To achieve that
difference, the 18mm, especially across the diagonal, has to sacrifice some
field of view. If you compare the angle of view vertically between the two, the
difference in is much closer. (I don't know the numbers off hand)
