I have slightly different memories of the Icicle. My best friend was killed
there almost 15 years ago. Went camping along it with his 13 year old son
and son's friend. The son and friend decided to put their little inflatable
in the creek, discovered immediately that this was a very bad decision, and
long story short, the son's friend and my friend (the dad) both died in the
creek that day. I spent the better part of a Saturday walking the banks of
the creek looking for my friend's body. Hate to see it go up in flames, but
my memories are obviously a bit tainted regarding it.
It IS a gorgeous spot. Just have to remember how dangerous a spot it is as
well.
