Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the list! Concerning the two Vivitar lenses that you are
considering, although I do not have any personal experience with either, I
have read mixed reviews about them. Generally, the view is that they are
decent performers considering their price. One thing I have noted is that
the 19mm prime does focus closer than the 19-35 zoom, if that helps any.

As for the wedding shoot, search the archives at www.photo.net , check out
the articles at www.zuga.net , feel free to ask as many specific questions
here as you wish, and good luck. FWIW, I was put in a similar situation in
early May. Much of the wedding was held outside, but the shots I took inside
included some using a T-20 (with a softbox, on a BG-2 or further off camera
with a cord). Film used indoors was Portra VC 400 and the results were fine.
One very important point that I raised with the young couple was that
although I was happy to lend them a helping hand, and that I would indeed
try my darndest to get them quality shots, they should not expect my photos
to compare with those of a pro photographer using pro medium format
equipment. In the end, I had enough "keepers" to fill an album and had all
of these blown up to 8x10 at a pro lab. With a little dodging and burning
here and there, and a nice leather album to showcase them, the two were very
happy with the results ( and I could finally sleep at nights).

Best of luck,

Bruce
