I remember your messages on that topic. Let's do some testing of OM4's and OM4Ti's next winter, so everybody here can benefit of it (and try to get some of these battery holders. Good luck).

I've used my OM-4T to photograph the northern lights in -30C. Or rather, I tried to do so. All was well for about 15 minutes, then the mirror locked up. I could get it working again for a few minutes by holding my fingers around the battery compartment. Bare hands against metal in -30C is not something I would recommend, but it works in a pinch. I also brought my OM-1, and it did of course work flawlessly, until later that night when the film snappet inside the camera (no motor drive or winder, just cold and insensitive fingers). I think an OM-2(n) would be the perfect choice for night time/cold weather use: Automatic exposure when required, very low battery drain and generally no problems with lock ups. I can't remember any problems with my OM-2n in cold weather, but then again I've only used it in more normal Norwegian winter temperatures, around 20C.

Or maybe we need little cardigans or pile vests for our OMs. :-)

Actually one of those neoprene foam cases from Zing ought to give you a more time before lock up.
