Can't help on the non-Zuikos, but you do NOT want the Zuiko 70-210. It is
NOT made by Olympus. Olympus has two lenses made by Cosina -- the 70-210
and the 35-70/3.5-4.8 (notice the 4.8). They are both, well, junk.
My offer to try out the Zuikos is still open. Borrow'em this weekend if you
want.

opinions about this so ...

I'd say out of this field the Zuiko 70-210 is looking pretty good. I
wonder if anyone has any strong positive or negative things to say about
any of these lenses. Note that I have ignored the Phoenix 75-300 as
looking too cheap. There are also some lovely looking Tamrons and Tokinas
that are a bit too expensive.
I don't really understand the difference between the fixed and variable
f-stop spec's. Or rather, I can imagine that the better lenses work harder
to provide the fixed settings. But could someone explain this to me and
tell me why I should care?
Still wondering what sort of film y'all would recommend for shooting
Reno. And like the advice about never using zooms (seriously, I appreciate
the opinions) I expect someone to tell me that slide film is the only real
option. I expect nonetheless to shoot print film both for ease of showing
my friends a few prints, and because I only have a flatbed scanner. I
might well get all my stuff scanned by the processor, however, so it could
be worth someone's time to make the case for slides.
