Thanks Mike - very interesting. I just read it. It's a shame that he didn't 
have some illustrations of the 35/2 Summicron which he said had good bokeh on 
both sides of focus:

I'd like to know how you'd accomplish that, ie how much and in what 
'direction(s)' the spherical aberration is corrected. And whether anyone has 
'tested' the bokeh of some Zuiko lenses, to see if they are good on both 
sides of focus.

Off to take some photos of some distant streetlights (not really!)
