I have the 300/4.5, and it is a lovely lens. However, I don't use it as much as my 200/4. I suggest that the 300/4.5 is nearly a specialist lens and that you won't need it before you have a 200 ... or perhaps a wide-angle (the 35/2.8 and 28/2.8 are good, small lenses).

Now, on the other hand, if you were to find a 300/4.5 cheap and in good nick, well I shouldn't worry about *need* and just snap it up ;-).

[my first paragraph was intended to be sensible advice; my second was what I sometimes do anyway :>)]

Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this lens.

I am considering a bid to a seller. Bidding starts at
AU $250. Is it worth getting as I only have 2 Zuiko's,
a 50mm 1.4 and 135mm 2.8 and I wouldnt mind a large
telephoto.

Cheers
