Welcome back Gary. I do envy you the trip.
I am not surprised that the digi-jobbers ran out of batteries with
the load that they put on the electrics.

Mt. Livermore - no sherpas or mules, thank you (though we did enjoy a
eyeball jarring 4-wheel dive up to the trail head). Got some shots of a
soaring zone tailed hawk with the 400, wildflowers with the 50 macro, group
shot with the 24 and arm length shot of the summit crew with the 16. By the
way, don't swing down from horizontal to straight down looking through the
viewfinder with a fisheye while standing on the edge of a 200 foot cliff.
Vertigo is no fun in that position.
The 600 never made it out of the truck and the 21 didn't get used either.
Same for the flash, OM-1N, and OM-2N- no owls, too tired to stay up for star
trails and the OM-4t didn't break.
Incidentally, the reason there was no second OM-4T, Wayne, is that it's in
John's shop - broke the viewfinder light button at the anniversary party.
Toll on this trip for the rest of the group- one N*k*n wonderbrick lens
packed it in, and two digicammers ran out of batteries.
