Actual figures, for what it's worth:

Two American Airlines 767s hit the trade towers; one with 58
passengers+crew, one with 90 people on board.

One "small aircraft" hit the Pentagon.

United Airlines 767 down near Pittsburgh, another UA plane down somewhere
they're not saying.

Rumours of another plane hijacked somewhere "in the eastern corridor" now
unfounded.

It was unbelievable watching CNN, guy in NY talking, suddenly the cameraman
says 'oh god' and they pan back to the second tower; another explosion comes
from somewhere inside the big hole about 800f the way up, the top gives
way and the uppermost section falls, then the whole thing just went down.

If anyone wants relatively up-to-date reports, www.slashdot.org (of all
places) is still up and there's a lot of people posting links there. CNN is
sketchy at best, BBC's web site is just about alive, abcnews is dead,
cbsnews is dead. The worst of the (initial) carnage seems to be over by now,
though.
