I have to respectfully disagree. For the sake of example, let's say my
old truck doesn't have a working gas gauge (not too far from the truth)
but through my knowledge of the truck I'm able to tell how much gas I
have with a stick marked with a couple of lines. If this works without
fail why did they start using gas gauges?  I think it would have been
easy for Oly to incorporate a simple indicator to signify "film in the
camera" and better yet what speed of film. Just seems like it would be a
bit more elegant than farting around with the rewind crank. They paid
more attention to less critical issues.
