===I followed a link someone left on the list yesterday or the day before
and read a couple of articles on camera makers. One concerned Olympus, which
the author described as terribly "out of date." Well, maybe it is at that,
but it is also terribly high quality, a concern which is, regrettably,
deemed passe by the vast majority of the buying public around the
world.=====

Not only by the buying public but by Olympus itself. Or so it would seem.
Olympus was a pioneer in the area of a full system 35mm with that small,
light, jewel like quality. However as time marched on Olympus with its
pioneer spirit still intact has developed a fine P&S line (stylus) and has
become a leader in the digital
photography revolution.
All this was at the expense of OM. They just took what they saw as good for
the company and ran with it.
As a photographer and a lover of all things OM, I lament this trend but also
see
why it is how it is.
Fortunately for us there is still a pile of used OM stuff out there and more
people are jumping on the digital and Auto focus bandwagon everyday.
More goodies on the used market for us.

"So you say you want a revolution? Well you know that you can count me out"
(With apologies to the Beatles)

Thanks for listening. <g>
