Mark,

I use the 50/2 as a normal lens and the 90/2 as a short telephoto all the
time.  I've used the 90/2 as a portrait lens too, and it compares quite
favorably to both the 85/2 and 100/2.  OK, nothing scientific in my testing,
but I believe Olympus did an amazing job with their macro lenses in making
them very useful at all distances.

I don't think you're giving anything up.  In fact, you're encouraging me to
'walkabout' with the 50/2 more.  Maybe a nice walk around the neighborhood
tomorrow afternoon!
