A matter of opinion perhaps. I just recently got a 2-4 screen (thank you
John!) and put it in my OM-4T. On the little sheet that cmae with the
screen it is indictaed as suitable for most of the telephotos. Not sure
what you mean by long telephoto, but with the 350/2.8 and 1.4XA
Converter (490mm), or the 350 alone, it was a huge improvement over the
1-13 screen that it replaced. In fact, it was so good I didn't want to
use my other body (OM-2S with 1-13 screen) at all. With the 80-200/2.8
(Tamron) it was incredible as well.
The finder brightness, ease of focus, and especially the way cars would
snap into focus as thay came into view allowing more accurate timing of
my shutter release point than ever before made me a believer in a
heartbeat. I'll never go back and need _at least_ one more of these
babys.
Not sure what you mean by color aberrations on the screen. I didn't
notice anything but a much brighter and more vivid image on screen, but
personally I could care less what the color on the screen looks like
since that has no effect on the film. My goal is to gain focus quickly
and accurately and to see, for a fleeting instant in my case, what will
(hopefully) land on the film plane. I'll stare at the image later on my
monitor screen and on paper...in the type of photography I do the image
has bassed by in less than a blink of an eye anyway. (Hence it being a
matter of opinion I suppose.)
