What OM body did you cut you teeth on? Were you one of
the old timers who got the OM-1 with its plates still
hot from the metal press? Was it an OM-2, 4, or
interestingly enough, an OM-3? Or did you start out
with an OM-10 or one of its variants? When you got
your first OM was it your first SLR and you barely
knew how to set the apeture and focus or were you a
pro looking to expand into a new system, or an
hobbyist/ameture somewhere in between? Do you still
have the body that started it all?

Personally I started with my mother's OM-2n, but the
first camera I could call mine was a used OM-4 with a
35-70 3.5-4.5 Zuiko zoom I got in 1996, my freshman
year in HS. I was interested in being a photographer
for the yearbook and school newspaper and P&S just
didn't cut it and even though my mom was willing to
lend me her cameras I wanted one to call my own. I was
fairly knowledgeable about how to use the OM system
and I must say my pictures were the best (little brag)
out of all the schools budding photographers. I
currently still have that OM-4 which is my primary
camera and is part of a core of 3 bodies. An OM-1n
which I got off e-bay this summer and just had cleaned
by John H. A very different camera. And a black OM-4T
which I just got a few weeks ago, earning sighs from
my parents who bemoan my OM-addiction. (I finally got
them to pay for it after I showed them an A research
paper I did on the Irish Poor Laws for a very tough
grading professor. :) Well this is my story; what's
yours?

P.S. I don't try to be wordy, but being the child of
two lawyers does have its effect on my writing. Read
the regulations on how to set up a Unitrust and you'll
see how lawyers write.
