Well if engraving a Brit postcode on your equipment
narrows the choice to 20 or less homes thats would be
a sensible idea. U.S zipcodes however a 'far' broader
in their population. 14627, my zipcode, has over
10,000 people in it so it wouldn't be much use to me.
I am not really trying to start a fight with people
who engrave info in out of the way spaces on thier
stuff or get a pro to do it or something. My beef is
with the RICHARD JOHNSONs of the world. People who use
rocks or carkeys or chisels or something and gouge out
massive ugly letters and numbers that just scream out
EYESORE. As far as the usability, I'd be kinda
embarassed to use equipment that had such massive self
inflicted scars in public places (I'm not in any way
taking about rough or well brassed equipment).
