Skip,  is it the VMC version of the lens (Vivitar Series 200mm f3)?
I have a minty 200/3 VMC and a Tamron 180/2.5  EX+ that I will get some 
test shots together as well.
The close focus on these two lenses is amazing.
If anyone has shot with a Tamron 300/2.8 (IF version) or the Tamron 400/f4 
and not the 180/2.5, the 180 is a baby version of those lenses right down 
to the detachable (neat) lens hood.
The Tamron, ofcourse, takes their 1.4x SP converter which is right up 
there with the Zuiko 1.4x (I shoot with as well).
