Okay, here's my tail

OM fever started on my 18th birthday, in 1990. I had been using my fathers pen EES, then my brothers Fujica AX-1, then my own trip AFMD; loved taking pictures and wanted an SLR. I researched a lot and an OM was my choice. My parents were pretty broke, so I was going to get a second hand OM10. However, generous relatives stumped up some more cash and I became the proud owner of an OM2s/p with a late 50/1.8. It had been through the wars, but it was a great camera. Over the next few years at university I was working in a mental institution in the holidays to raise cash, and spending it on OM gear. I soon had the 28/2.8, 135/3.5, T20, 200/4 and the 35-105/3.5-4.5. SInce then it's just got worse; as I have made a little bit of money here and there with photographs I've bought more and more OM kit. My original 2s/p circuits blew, but the corpse rests gently in my cupboard, with the caps and back passed to the next generation. I've had a 10 and 35-105 and tamron 80-210 stolen , and owned and sold several 4's. My cameras get rough treatment as I travel to eygpt a lot, especially in the deserts - and they handle it fine. My main kit is 4ti (seriously brassed, seriously sexy) and a 3 with the 28/2, 35-80, 100/2.8 and 180/2.8 plus a vivitar 19 as the core lenses, with a 50/1.2 for low light stuff and too many other goddies in the cupboard.

11 years after my first hit, I'm as addicted as ever.....

Pete
