Thanks! I was getting as close as I can w/ the macro range, so it's probably around 7 or 8 inches? I wish I have time to set up a tripod, I was practically on my belly propping up the camera as steady as possible with my elbows...

It is nice. This is the one that I probably overpaid a bit - $721 on EvilBay, and I ended up selling my Tamron 90/2.5 to help fund it. Wish I still have the Tamron to do a side to side comparison, but I guess the smoothness of the background is what they call Bokeh?! I like the bokeh too....
