See John H.'s note on problem #1 -- sometimes this can be fixed by a
adjusting the the mirror cocking lever, sometimes there's another lever
that has to be replaced with an "improved" part.

On #2 (lines across the image), when you check the negative, do the
light bands appear to radiate out from the sprocket holes? If so,
you're rewinding the film by turning the rewind knob backwards! You
MUST rewind the film by turning the rewind knob CLOCKWISE ONLY. On most
other OM's the rewind knob would unscrew, but the 10's knob is locked to
the shaft and won't unscrew -- if you turn the knob backwards you can
rewind the film into the cassette backwards. In so doing, the film
emulsion is bent at a severe angle, causing what we call "stress
exposure" -- the light bands crossing the image.

Otherwise, check the foam seal across the side of the body next to the
hinge -- it may have slipped off.

#3, be sure the batteries are good -- the 10 will "lock up" if the
batteries are dead. If not, and everything else is OK, the gears in the
bottom are probably "crossed" -- once again, time for a trip to the
Dr's!
