I recently did a bit of an analysis of the membership of Zuikoholics
Anonymous, based on each person's responses to the sign-up form. Although not a scientific study, I think the results are quite telling. Here
is the URL to the numbers:

http://www.joinco.ca/zuikoholism/memberstudy.html

And, here are some of my conclusions based on those numbers:

1. More than two-thirds of the members (66 out of 91) report being
addicted. Sadly, only twenty-five members report being hobbiests.

2. Nearly half of the members (40 out of 91) have a hopeless prognosis
in that they report having no desire whatsoever to work on overcoming
their addiction. Another one-fourth of the members (23 out of 91) are
trying to overcome their addiction but have doubts they'll succeed. Sadly, 19 of the members are in denial that they need any help. But
the saddest statistic of all is that only 10 percent of the members (9 out
of 91) are truly doing their best to overcome this terrible disease.

3. Of the 91 members, more than a third (35) favor the OM-4 models. Another one-fourth (21 members) favored the OM-2 models, and fifteen
percent (14 members) favored the OM-1 models. In other words, 77
percent of the members favored these three models.

4. It would appear that the OM-2SP is the most addictive of the
Olympus cameras. All 5 members who favored the OM-2SP reported
that they are Zuikoholics.

5. On the other hand, the OM-40 (OM-PC) appears to be the least
addictive camera, as only 1/3rd (1 out of 3) of those favoring it reported
they are addicts.

I will be happy to trade an OM-PC for the champagne OM4Ti of any addict out there who wants to kick the habit.

It is sad to note that the vast majority of members who admitted to
being addicted also expressed no desire to overcome the disease. This
just shows how much work there is to be done. Do not fear, though, for
the work of Zuikoholics Anonymous WILL go on! Of course, your
donations of OM gear will be most appreciated and will help us to fight
the good fight!

Really, Chris, you have to give something back here.

Regards,

Chris

P.S. Comments are appreciated, too!
