Actually, I know a LI, NY "middle school" (used to be junior high) Art
Teacher whose about 53 now, and they pay him $80,000 a year, plus
additional $7000 if he does a month's summer school. (At an incredible
salary like that, its tough to hear they don't pay teachers enough - at
least not here).
