With a 2N atleast, the first 3.5 minutes of a B exposure (though the shutter
is held open mechanically, batteries not required) there is a drain of
approx. 25 ma. When the P board times out (after 3.5 minutes) drain drops
to 25 micro amps (shutter is still open). When the shutter closes, drain
drops to essentially "0".

| Silly question, probably, but I can't seem to find the answer in either
| e-sif or archives. Are there any OM bodies which use the battery on the
| B setting or are they always mechanical on B?
| >>
|
| I own, or I've used a OM-1, OM-1n, OM-4, OM-10, OM-20.
| All mechanical OM off course don't use batteries on B, and this apply on
| OM-1(n) and OM-3(Ti).
| The OM-4 (and also OM-4Ti and the OM-2S I think), even if it is an
| electronic camera, has a
| mechanical B and 1/60, so on these settings the camera does not need
| batteries.
| I'm not sure about the OM-2/OM-2n.
| For the OM-10/20 the camera need batteries also on B: without the shutter
| opens but never close.
