Well if you see an Orange lump don't hit it because it might be my little
Jeep and you might break my telescope....but probably not the Jeep. /jnm

Wow, I'm almost sorry I mentioned it, but know I know. If it makes anyone
feel better, I bought this vehicle to haul around my telescope gear. As an
amateur astronomer living in an urban area, you need to pack a lot of gear
and travel as far as possible to get to dark skies. For instance, next
weekend I will be driving up Mt. Joy in New Mexico to 7500' to view the
Leonid Meteor Shower (storm hopefully) and spend a few days photographing
some deep space objects . (Which, incidentally, is why I got my first OM-1n
body to begin with!) Now 7,500' may not be much vertically, but add unpaved
single lane roads, freezing conditions and lots of gear and you can see
where these vehicles really shine.

When I'm not going off the beaten path looking for the ultimate observing
spot, I'll be burning gas, hogging the road and running down tourists
(unless they are carrying an Olympus camera) and loving every minute of it.

Isn't it great to be alive and have the freedom to drive whatever the heck
you want?

Cheers,

Mike V. <><
