Oh, how stark and frightening the face of reality! I?m afraid you
may be right. In some 20 years, the only time I have divested
myself of a piece of Olympus equipment (except for a dead T-45
battery and the therefore useless charger send off to hnz) was
when I came into possession of a 28/2.8 Carl Zeiss Jena OM mount
lens. My good lady wife bought it for me as a birthday present
because it was unusual, and once I used it, I found it to be a
better performer than my 28/2 Zuiko (probably the dog of the
Zuikos, if there is one) and I traded the Zuiko for some forgotten
doodad.
But now I regret having been so callous and unzuikophillic. I
miss my little underachieving 28/2 Zuiko. It wasn?t bad, just not
as good as the Zeiss. But the Zeiss is like a duck in a hen
house: it?s not one of the gang. And since the time I sent that
poor little Zuiko out into the cold, cruel world, absolutely
nothing of the Olympus persuasion that has come into my possession
has gotten away.
Oh, hell, I guess I?m still hooked after all. When is the next
meeting? Will there be coffee and doughnuts?
