Sure, I used my Tamrom 35-70 f/3.5 with both a no-name, and Vivitar 
macrofocusing teleconverters. Later I removed the innards of the no-name, and 
use it as an extension tube. Apart from the usual quality loss associated 
with the pairing of a zoom and a TC there are no problems, aperture control 
is maintained, it's mechanically sound, etc.
