No advice as to fixing the lens, but I had the same problem
with the aperture blades on a Vivitar 75 to 205 zoom. My
solution was buy Zuikos. I now have a Zuiko 75 to 150 zoom
and a 200 f4.

Subject: [OM] 28mm Lens Fix (Aperture)

As I was looking over my gear last night I realized that the
aperture blades
on my Vivitar 28mm f2 lens do not move at all. They are
completely stuck. I
have not used this lens in a while but when I did the
results were really
nice. I had planned on using this lens for my TOPE 8
composition that is
running around in my head.

What can I do to fix it? I purchased it about 6 or 8 years
ago for $40(US).
I do not want to pay someone because the cost to fix it will
quickly over
come the replacement cost (besides this is a golden
opportunity to get a
Zuiko 28).

So the net net is I want to try to fix it myself. At best; I
fix it and get
my lens back, at worst; I have a learning experience and I
go out and buy a
Zuiko (or is that the best case?)!! Does any one have some
advise for trying
to "unstick" aperture blades?
