[OM] OM-PC battery problem

Subject: [OM] OM-PC battery problem

Last week (I think exactly a week ago today) I loaded a fresh set of
Energizer 357s into an OM-PC body I have. I was planning on doing some
testing with it in preparation for giving this camera to my son, who's
recently expressed an interest.

Two days ago (Saturday) I picked the body up to explain something about it
to my dad, switched it to "check" and got nary a peep out of it. Checking
the batteries with a meter shows them to be totally discharged.

I've not heard of battery "eating" with the OM-PC, but I'm admittedly less
familiar with it than other OM models. Has anyone else had this sort of
problem? Is it "user error" in that I should have set the camera to some
other setting before setting it aside? I left it in "program", lens mounted,
lens cap on.
