Chris -- there is a nice lighthouse just south of San Francisco along Hwy 1.
I've whizzed by it on the motorcycle many times. I think it is called Pigeon
Point lighthouse, and they have tours (which I know nothing about). There is
also Anuo Nuevo (spelling probably wrong!) nature preserve, which is known
as a sea lion habitat. I'm not sure but I think there are some restrictions
on the visiting times for that.
Your trip sounds to me like you need about 3 months to get it all in!
