I know it makes sense to start with a camera system that you may keep and
build upon over the years; and...it may not make too much sense to recommend
the OM *system*... but what exactly does a 'student' need? Probably just a
body, 50mm lens, and a basic flash. Many student photo classes only require
you to have a 50mm lens, and even discourage other lenses for a beginning
student. So, for around say, $125- (OM-G, [$65] 50mm, [$25] T-20 or T-32
[$35] ) you got your basic student set-up. Not bad.
