But if John (Hobson) is in the UK, you would be better advised to
keep your camera in the country - you can't insure stuff sent to the
US by Royal Mail. Colchester Cameras, or Luton Cameras both come
recommended by British members on the List.

I paid £75 for my OM1N to have a service and to have the meter sorted
- back in 1998 at Colchester Cameras 01206 790009. Luton can also
get you little bits like lens caps and TTL socket caps.

Clean, Lubricate, Adjust. A camera technician looks the body over
and fixes all the little wear and tear inside; adjusts meter and
shutterspeeds and lubricates parts that need it, or change the foam
(lightseal). Basically, if there's nothing seriosly wrong (like a
faulty circuit board) you will have a camera back that may not look
new but function like it was new.

There are a couple of people on the list that do these things, and
there might be a serviceplace where you live. Cost is usually US$
100~150 + shipping depending on the model of the body, and what
problems to solve. High single digits (OM-3(ti) and 4(ti)) are
usually more expensive.
