Like anything else. this was only one sample, on an OM-1 (as you point out.)
Also, hand focused on a map by the human eye (however microscopically perfect
that can be). Even the smallest testing imperfections like that can color the
result.

I've only been able to borrow a zuiko 90mm, and only used it on part of a roll. 
I
own the Tokina AT-X, and ultimately am not at all surprised at photodo results.
