The (Mallory) 640 is a mercury battery that is presumably banned now. You
could order it from Radio Shack back in 1998 (list archive info via
google). I have an old Bolex P1 that used the same battery, and I always
had problems finding a fresh one. I presume that it is 1.35v, but the deep
format could hide a double battery perhaps. I think that you will need a
lot of luck in finding one; let me know if you find a source!

Sincerely,
Roger Key

I just received my Pentax 1/21 Spotmeter from ebay. I want to replace both
batteries, one of which is a common 9V battery. The other battery appears
to be dead and is labeled "640". Does anybody know if this battery, or its
equivalent is still available?
