Hi Albert.

Next time ask him "How long until your digital is obsolete? 3 months?"

Also, I've shot with a few different "digis" including the Canon G2 and the
Fuji 6800Z. While I love the convenience of a digital point and shoot when
set to "auto" IMO they provide the same boring images as any other automatic
point and shoot camera. For me controlling these cameras manually was a
nightmare requiring endless scrolling and clicking inside a tiny LED screen.

The Fuji 6800Z I have in my hand right now was around $700. I'm pretty sure
that it is over 4 megapixels and every review I've read about it says the
image quality is among the best in it's price range. I think it's safe to
say that it is a "better" camera than your uncle's and yet I would NEVER use
it to take important pictures. I gladly toted 2 camera bodies and 7 lenses
through 2 airports on my way to a recent family reunion so I could take
pictures of my 3 month old daughter with her great grandfather. The digicam
stayed at home...

If you still can't convince him... steal his batteries and then tell him how
your camera can work without batteries. :-)
