You mean that I can blame that on the film? I thought it was my
lenses or something. Although, I've experienced this to a far
greater extent with T-grain films than the Fujichromes. Another
reason to not overexpose Tmax.
As far as fading is concerned, I've been experiencing some
fading with some 15 year old chromes. The Kodachromes are
holding up fine, but the Fujichrome 100 is starting to go. I
believe it to be mostly caused by poor processing and
non-archival sheets. The Fujichome 50 is holding up a little
better and the earliest Velvia is doing just fine. The
Ektachromes look even pukier as they did when I shot them. The
Provia and Velvia, which I have faithfully shot along with
Kodachrome is holding up perfectly.
Different lab, different chemistry, different slide sheets.
Fortunately, most of the stuff that is starting to fade is less
than my best, anyway. Not many sellable shots there. They were
part of my "education". I'll go through and dupe the good ones
before it's too late.
