Won't NiCds give the fastest recycling? Tho' lithiums will last much 
longer.

Use the narrowest aperture you can to increase the flash to ambient light 
ratio, e.g. f/8-f/11. Use the calculator on the back to estimate your 
range.

You could also add a slave flash or two. One of my highschool shots of a 
night football game was strong enough to trigger someone else's slave 
resulting in a nice side-lit shot.
