Chris -- if it happened while you weren't looking then it didn't happen.

Viz:

Mom - "How did this cookie jar get broken?"

Boy - "I don't know. I didn't see it happen."

Mom - "Go to your room."

Boy - "Good thing I closed my eyes..." Boy pockets pilfered cookies...


Note -- any semblance between the above scenario and events in the author's
youth are strictly coincidental.
