I just realised that not everyone has cable or ADSL access, or even
reliable 40k+. There is a program at http://www.webwasher.com which, by
removing ads, speeds up access to the good stuff. It also does other nice
things like control animations, cookies and scripts. Works with any
browser.
I've been using it for a year or so. It's reliable and unobtrusive.
It's also free for personal use.
