 And, to close this thread off, I took it along to a local repair shop (the
place I got my OM-10 cla'd at) and they took it in, took it apart, tightened
everything and put it back together. It was apparently loose because some
sand(!) had got inside the rear mounting bits; the glass is still fine,
though, thankfully. Total cost; US$40ish (including a rear+front cap,
because they weren't there originally).  Total price now $135, which is not
as great a deal as it was originally, but still cheap enough that I'm happy
-- though I'm still going to see what I can get out of the vendor for this.

 If nothing, so be it -- they're not a camera seller, and the description
they gave _was_ strictly speaking accurate, if not quite as complete as I
might have wanted. Note to self, though -- stop buying stuff from people on
eBay that don't specialise in camera kit, no matter how good the deal may
seem..
