Thanks Scott. My wife loved it as well ...hence its use as a Christmas Card cover.

A "bender" is a shelter which is used generally by modern travellers or squatters - people who don't have a house. It is made of springy branches formed (bent) to form a frame over which you stretch a waterproof cover; my bro uses a tarpaulin. His bender is on National Trust land, in a wood facing south. There is an old 8 foot high wall protecting him from the wind (this is on the south coast of Wales so winds can be a problem) and his bender is formed of hurdles which is one of his specialities. My bro makes living sculptures of wood and shrubs and I have made him a rough website at:

http://www.threeshoes.co.uk/McEwen/Ewen_main.html

He and his partner live there with their tiny baby in return for work that they do for the National Trust. Yes, my bro is close to being a hippy (I thought I was once when I lived in Calcutta), but he is a clever chap and I love him :>).

I can't help with the printing issue, Chris, but I'd like to complement you
on the shot. Very peaceful scene in both color and subject matter. I'd also
like to ask for an English-to-english translation, please. What the heck's a
"bender"?

Two great peoples, divided by a common language. (Or something like that,
anyway)
