Sorry, I should have read your question more carefully. I *do* use the MR-9 adapter, but *only* with silver cells (MS-76, SR44W, etc.). Alkalines aren't recommended, because they have a different internal resistance and the wrong discharge curve (metering errors start to accumulate).

Silver cells only, that's the way to go with the MR-9.
