Ah! Well, most of the things I take apart work as well or better
after reassembly. I've been a tinkerer all my life. When I was about
6(?), my mother panicked when she saw me about to plug in the partially
disassembled electric clock I was workng on. I didn't get to find out if
I could fix that one!

and have no hope of ever going anywhere _before_ I start fiddling.. For a
_long_ time there was a VCR in parts on my workbench; never did work out
what was wrong with it, sadly; I even tried the drop-from-three-feet fix,
but no luck. After that I started to have a better appreciation for my
limits..
