I've been asked to photograph a collection of crystal and
artwork. The glassware should be relatively doable, but I've
never really photographed paintings and drawings before. The
one primary limitation is everything is to be done on location
and the paintings and drawings are to remain attached to the
wall.

One is a Salvador Dali original measuring about 20x24". This ink
drawing is behind glass and is next to a window. (go figure).
Because of all the windows, I will do all photographing at night
to control the reflections. There are two other signed limited
edition (1 of 25 or so) silver-etchings of his work too.

The paintings are not behind glass and are standard oil-based
pigments and range from 20 to 80 years in age.

The glass is mostly a collection of Laleek and includes some
very rare and pricey items. (Their insurance rider is huge!)
There will be some additonal pictures of table glassware, china
and flatware. There is also a small collection of Fenton
originals (one offs and special designs).

I forgot to mention, that I'll be photograping a 6000+ piece
collection of drugstore memoribilia. But that will be easy to
do as it will be more straight-forward grouping shots.

Anyway, I need some advice for the paintings, drawing and the
silver-etchings. I've got a lighting technique for the
glassware which I'll modify and use as necessary considering
space constraints at the location. I'll be experimenting ahead
of time on the glassware to prove it works, since it has been a
number of years since I've photographed crystal.

Looks like the 50/3.5 will get a good workout.
