Unfortunately I have to agree. My guess is that the L-5/iS-5000/iS-5 will 
replace both the
L-3/iS-3000/iS-3 as well as the L-20/iS-20/iS-200. But think of it this way: 
What if
iS-5000 is what iS-1(000) was when it was released back in 1990 (with it's 
shortcomings
like the slow AF and lousy user interface), then maybe we at least can expect 
some major
improvements over the years (think iS-6000, iS-7000 etc.).
